June 27, 2017: As Executrix of my late Aunt's Estate, I sold a piece of family history yesterday to Leon & Elisheva Hakimian, who along with their two small children, will bring life back into 25 Franklin Place. This house has been in the family since 1940. As the story goes, back in the 1930's my grandfather was a chauffeur and handyman for Mr. Rabe, director and chairman at Manufacturer's Trust. My mother and her siblings lived in an apartment over the garage on Mr. Rabe's Great Neck Estate. Mr. Rabe liked my grandfather so much that he bought this house and my grandparents and their three girls moved in. In 1955, my Aunt (my mother's older sister) and her husband purchased the house from Mr. Rabe. From the time my Aunt was a teenager up til her passing, she was a permanent resident of 25 Franklin Place.
