Coastal Center at Milford Point
Established in 1995, The Smith-Hubbell Wild Refuge and Bird Sanctuary is situated next to an 840 acre preserve.
At the mouth of the Housatonic River, the Coastal Center provides easy access to Long Island Sound and its many inhabitants:
tidal salt marshes, barrier beaches, tide pools and dunes--environments to support a variety of bird, plant and animal communities for observation and study.

May 08, 2020: Shortly after the passing of my mother on September 11, 2018, I asked my brother, Bobby, a resident of Norwalk, Connecticut if he would be interested in participating in the purchase and care of a beach front property in proximity to Lantern Hill, our family owned office park in Fairfield. For about 18 months, I became an armchair real estate shopper. When I saw Dr. Jonathan Puchalski's Smiths Point home, I told Bobby, "This is it! This is the perfect retreat for all of us!" My goal was threefold. 1.) To share my modest wealth before my passing, 2.) To have a place to rest when visiting and working on the east coast and 3.) To provide an easy-to-access beach house for Klines to enjoy for generations to come.
